El auge de la aproximación política y económica de China al continente africano a lo largo de la última década

Abstract

Este TFG pretende responder a la pregunta: ¿Qué impacto está teniendo la expansión y deslocalización empresarial de China hacia algunos países de África? Con el fin de abordar la cuestión se analizarán los efectos – beneficiosos o perjudiciales – de la intervención de China en África. Para ello serán tomados en consideración diversos proyectos que la emergente potencia económica está emprendiendo en el continente, como la construcción de carreteras, rehabilitación de líneas ferroviarias existentes, la satisfacción de necesidades sociales inmediatas y la creación de Zonas Francas o de Libre Comercio. Asimismo, es necesario comprender los motivos que impulsan a China a expandirse hacia África, si estos son simplemente económicos o si desea imponer culturalmente sus ideas en África. Finalmente, se investiga si dichos motivos son éticos o si, por el contrario, únicamente se centran en obtener lucro a costa de África y sus recursos. Por todo ello, el recorrido de la relación de China y África ha de ser tomada en consideración, con el fin de intentar trazar la trayectoria de dichas relaciones en un futuro y lo que implicará para ambas economías y sociedades.

This Final Project aims to address the following question: What impact is China's economic expansion and offshoring to some African countries having? In order to cover the issue, the effects – beneficial or detrimental – of China's intervention in Africa will be analyzed. For this purpose, various projects that the emerging economic power is undertaking in the continent will be taken into consideration, such as the construction of roads, the rehabilitation of existing railway lines, the satisfaction of immediate social needs and the creation of Free Trade Zones. It is also necessary to understand China's reasons for expanding into Africa, whether these are simply economic or whether it wishes to impose its ideas culturally on Africa. Finally, it is addressed whether these motives are ethical or whether, on the contrary, they are solely focused on making profit at the expense of Africa and its resources. Therefore, the path of China's relationship with Africa must be taken into consideration in order to attempt to trace the trajectory of such relations in the future and what it will imply for both economies and societies.
