Resumen : | n/a A country like the Republic of Mozambique, one of the most underdeveloped nations according to the UNDP, and the most impacted by the effects of the climate crisis, according to the most recent CRI report, should occupy a central role on the global stage in discussing sustainable development and climate change. Emerging economies like this one require more attention for no other reason than that they heavily influence economic stability on a global scale, more so than we think. And, in order for sustainable development to succeed, no country can be left behind, as the very nature of sustainability requires longevity and inclusivity. This paper introduces the Republic of Mozambique as its protagonist, and sets the scene against the backdrop of the climate crisis, before launching into its main purpose: sustainable economic development, namely the country’s past and present attempts at it and how climate change, among other obstacles, has complicated its journey to sustained economic prosperity. |
