Patología Dual (PD) : Comorbilidad psiquiátrica de Trastornos por Uso de Sustancias (TUS) y Trastornos de Personalidad (PD): dianas de intervención

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar una aproximación teórica acerca de la patología dual (PD), concretamente de la comorbilidad psiquiátrica existente del Trastorno por Uso de Sustancias (TUS) y los Trastornos de Personalidad (TP) y de sus dianas de intervención. Para ello, se ha revisado bibliografía recabada a través de diversas bases de datos (PubMed, PsycInfo). Se ha observado la alta prevalencia presente en la sociedad, encontrando de manera más frecuente TUS con TP límite o con TP antisocial. Por otro lado, se han mostrado los objetivos terapéuticos a seguir con estos pacientes, de los cuales resalta la importancia de la adherencia al tratamiento y la prevención de recaídas; y se han expuesto algunas de las terapias más recurridas (Terapia de Esquemas de Enfoque Dual, Terapia Dialéctico Conductual). Se ha puesto de manifiesto la complejidad que supone padecer esta comorbilidad, tanto a nivel sintomático como terapéutico; y el desconocimiento y la carencia de investigación y estudios acerca de ello, presentando una limitación a la hora de realizar este trabajo.

The aim of this paper was to make a theoretical approach about dual pathology (DP), specifically about the existing psychiatric comorbidity of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Personality Disorders (PD) and their intervention targets. To this end, we have reviewed the literature collected through various databases (PubMed, PsycInfo). It has been observed the high prevalence present in society, finding more frequently TUS with borderline PD or antisocial PD. On the other hand, the therapeutic objectives to be followed with these patients have been shown, highlighting the importance of adherence to treatment and relapse prevention; and some of the most frequently used therapies (Dual Focus Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) have been presented. The complexity of suffering from this comorbidity, both symptomatically and therapeutically, the lack of knowledge and the lack of research and studies about it have been highlighted, presenting a limitation when carrying out this work.
