Proyecto educativo orientado a familias de adolescentes recién diagnosticados de Leucemia Mieloide Aguda

Abstract

Introducción: La leucemia es un grupo de varios trastornos malignos de la sangre presentados con un elevado número de leucocitos en sangre y/o en la médula ósea. La sangre contiene una gran cantidad de células neoplásicas. En la adolescencia, el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad sumado a todos los cambios que se producen en esta etapa vital hace que el proceso de la enfermedad sea aún más complicado. Objetivos: El proyecto educativo surge de la necesidad de comprender la enfermedad a través de una información veraz. Los participantes, cuidadores principales y los propios adolescentes serán capaces de analizar el proceso y verbalizar sus sentimientos. Del mismo modo, se conseguirá favorecer la confianza entre el núcleo familiar, evitar que produzca una sobrecarga en el rol cuidador y conocerán todos los distintos tipos de ayuda a las que pueden acceder. Implicaciones para la práctica enfermera: Se intenta visibilizar la implicación que tiene la Enfermería en cuanto al empoderamiento de los adolescentes ya que son los sanitarios que más tiempo pasan con ellos en las unidades.

Introduction: Leukemia is a group of several malignant blood disorders which are presented with an elevated number of leukocytes in blood and/or bone marrow. The term is used to refer to the fact that the blood contains a large number of neoplastic cells. In adolescence, the diagnosis of this disease added to all the changes that occur in this vital stage makes the disease process even more complicated. Objectives: The educational project arises from the need to understand the disease through truthful information. The participants, main caregivers and the adolescents themselves will be able to analyze the process and verbalize their feelings. In the same way, they will be able to foster trust among the family unit, avoiding an overloading in the caregiver role and learning about all the different types of help they can access. Implications for nursing practice: The aim is to make visible the involvement of nursing in the empowerment of adolescents, since they are the health professionals who spend the most time with them in the units.
