Estudio observacional. Participación del padre en el Método Canguro

Abstract

Hoy en día, existe cierta ambigüedad social sobre la participación y función del padre en el método canguro, lo que genera tensiones entre la práctica enfermera a la hora de explicar las funciones de cada uno de los progenitores a lo largo de todo el método y la forma que tienen los padres de repartir los roles. Objetivo: observar la participación del padre de un recién nacido prematuro en el método canguro. Con el fin de conocer el fruto de esas tensiones y saber qué está ocurriendo en la actualidad, se realizará un estudio observacional descriptivo donde se focalizará la atención en la participación del padre en el método canguro. Se recogerán todos los datos obtenidos a través de la observación mediante dos fichas de recogida y un cuestionario. Debido a que los enfermeros son los encargados de acompañar tanto a los padres como a los neonatos durante el método canguro, es importante analizar la situación actual para poder plantear soluciones en un futuro.

Nowadays, there is a certain degree of social ambiguity about the father’s participation and function in the Kangaroo-Mother Care method, creating tension between the nursing practice when explaining each progenitor’s functions throughout the whole method and the way parents distribute their roles. Objetive: to observe a premature infant’s father’s participation in the Kangaroo-Mother Care method. With the purpose of learning the results of these tensions and knowing what is going on at present, a descriptive observational study will be carried out where the attention will be focalized on the father’s participation in the Kangaroo-Mother Care method. All the obtained data will be collected through observation by means of two datasheets and a survey. Due to the fact that nurses are the ones responsible for accompanying both the parents and the neonates during the Kangaroo-Mother Care method, it is important to analyze the current situation in order to be able to suggest some solutions for the future.
