Influencia de la personalidad y la orientación teórico-técnica en el Estilo Personal del Terapeuta

Abstract

El Estilo Personal Del terapeuta (EPT) es un constructo que se define como el conjunto de características que cada terapeuta utiliza en su trabajo como resultado de su forma particular de ser (Fernández-Álvarez, García y Scherb, 1998). Uno de los objetivos de este estudio consiste en distinguir si existe una relación entre el EPT y la orientación teórico-técnica a la que se adscribe el terapeuta. El otro objetivo es el de observar si los factores de personalidad tienen un carácter predictivo en las funciones del EPT. Para ello se ha realizado una búsqueda de datos de forma sistemática, en las bases de datos Psychinfo, Pubmed, Psicodoc y Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection (PBSC). Se utilizaron finalmente para la realización del trabajo 11 artículos. Se encontró que los estudios coincidían en la dirección del efecto entre las dimensiones de personalidad y el ETP, por lo que puede existir un carácter predictivo. También se encontró que existen diferencias entre los distintos enfoques teórico-técnicos en el EPT.

The Personal Style of the Therapist (PST) is a construct that is defined as the set of characteristics that each therapist uses in their work as a result of their particular way of being (Fernández-Álvarez, García & Scherb, 1998). One of the objectives of this study is to distinguish whether there is a relationship between the PST and the theoretical-technical orientation to which the therapist ascribes. The other objective is to observe if the personality factors have a predictive character in the functions of the PST. For it, a systematic data search was carried out in the Psychinfo, Pubmed, Psicodoc and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection (PBSC) databases. To carry out this work, 11 articles were used. It was found that the studies coincided in the direction of the effect between the personality dimensions and the PST, thus there is a predictive character. It was also found that there are distinctions between the different theoretical-technical approaches in the PST.
