Lo divino y la santidad

Abstract

El hecho religioso tiene dos aspectos: el personal (religiosidad) y el institucional (religión). La religiosidad es la actitud vital de entrega a algo divino, entendiendo lo divino como un principio trascendente posibilitador del bien humano. Hay distintas concepciones de lo divino y diferentes formas de religiosidad. A nuestra altura de la historia (tras el tiempo eje y en la modernidad tardía), las concepciones de lo divino como una hipotética entidad supramundana son inaceptables. Solo es plausible una religiosidad naturalista, en la que el concepto de lo divino coincida con la idea de santidad, es decir, el potencial de autotrascendencia presente en todos los seres humanos.

The religious fact has two aspects: the personal (religiosity) and the institutional (religion). Religiosity is the vital attitude of surrender to something divine, understanding the divine as a transcendent principle enabling of human good. There are different ideas of the divine and different forms of religiosity At our point in history (after the Axial Age and in Late Modernity), the ideas of the divine as a hypothetical supramundane entity are unacceptable. Only a naturalistic religiosity, in which the concept of the divine coincides with the idea of holiness (that is, the potential for self-transcendence present in all human beings), is possible.
