What we know and how we tell it: data culture in human trafficking

Abstract

El proyecto Cultura de datos en la trata de seres humanos parte de la hipótesis de que prevenir y proteger a las víctimas de trata requiere conocer el alcance y magnitud del fenómeno. Esta hipótesis llevó al proyecto a emprender numerosas acciones que permitieran poner en valor la importancia de los datos como herramienta para entender mejor la realidad de la trata y la explotación de seres humanos y tomar mejores decisiones en la lucha contra este fenómeno.

The Data Culture in Human Trafficking project is based on the hypothesis that the prevention and protection of trafficking victims requires knowledge of the scope and magnitude of the phenomenon. This hypothesis led the project to undertake numerous actions which would enhance the importance of the data as a tool for better understanding the reality of human trafficking and exploitation and making better decisions in the fight against it.
