Conflicto Geopolítico entre Irán y Arabia Saudita : conflicto de naturaleza geopolítica con legitimación religiosa

Abstract

La tensión entre Arabia Saudita e Irán, que ha sido una fuente de inestabilidad en el Medio Oriente durante muchos años, es el tema central de esta tesis. Para examinar el conflicto desde las perspectivas del individuo, el estado y el sistema internacional, se utilizarán los tres pilares teóricos de Waltz. Se examinarán las razones detrás de las decisiones de los líderes en ambos países, las políticas internas que alimentan su rivalidad y las fuerzas externas que ayudan a escalar el conflicto.

En la primera sección, se examinará el desarrollo histórico de la oposición religiosa, geopolítica, económica y militar entre Arabia Saudita e Irán. El análisis se centrará en cómo ambos Estados han trabajado para promover sus propios intereses y establecerse como la fuerza dominante en la región, lo que ha resultado en una escalada del conflicto. El foco de la segunda sección estará en las figuras significativas que han influido en el desarrollo del conflicto, como el rey Salman de Arabia Saudita y el príncipe heredero Mohammed bin Salman de Arabia Saudita, así como el ayatolá Jomeini y el líder supremo Ali Jamenei de Irán. Serán evaluados por sus posiciones y cómo han afectado las políticas y acciones de sus respectivos países.

La tercera sección examinará los papeles jugados en el conflicto por actores internacionales como Estados Unidos, China y Rusia. Se examinarán los efectos de su intervención en la dinámica del conflicto, así como las motivaciones y fuerzas motrices detrás de su participación en el mismo. Usando la teoría del vals como marco teórico, esta tesis busca proporcionar una comprensión completa y profunda de una de las rivalidades más complicadas e influyentes en la sociedad contemporánea. Para comprender mejor la disputa e identificar posibles soluciones para ponerle fin, se espera que esta investigación sea útil.

The tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which has been a source of instability in the Middle East for many years, is the central theme of this thesis. To examine conflict from the perspectives of the individual, the state, and the international system, Waltz's three theoretical pillars will be used. The reasons behind the decisions of the leaders in both countries, the internal politics that fuel their rivalry, and the external forces that help escalate the conflict will be examined.

In the first section, the historical development of the religious, geopolitical, economic, and military opposition between Saudi Arabia and Iran will be examined. The analysis will focus on how both states have worked to advance their own interests and establish themselves as the dominant force in the region, resulting in an escalation of the conflict. The focus of the second section will be on significant figures who have influenced the development of the conflict, such as King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, as well as Ayatollah Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei of Iran. They will be evaluated on their positions and how they have affected the policies and actions of their respective countries.

The third section will examine the roles played in the conflict by international actors such as the United States, China, and Russia. The effects of their intervention on the conflict dynamics will be examined, as well as the motivations and driving forces behind their participation in it. Using the theory of the waltz as a theoretical framework, this thesis seeks to provide a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of one of the most complicated and influential rivalries in contemporary society. To better understand the dispute and identify potential solutions to end it, this research is expected to be helpful.
