Pensamiento social danés sobre América Latina

Abstract

Plantear o acusar que cierto pensamiento latinoamericano puede ser eurocentrista, implica asumir que las ideas tienen un origen, una nacionalidad y que, además, puede no corresponder con la identidad y el territorio de quienes las piensan: latinoamericanos pensando con ideas europeas. Esta distinción epistemológica entre la identidad de las ideas y la de las personas que las piensan nos es útil para introducir los escritos de este libro: autoras y autores que, pese a estar en Dinamarca, piensan de "forma latinoamericana sobre Latinoamérica". Como en el reflejo de un espejo, estas autoras y autores están situados en Europa, pero piensan en y con América Latina, un pensamiento en diálogo. Los textos aquí reunidos no sólo desbordan estas categorías entre pensamiento puramente eurocéntrico o latinoamericano, también rebasan los límites impuestos por las disciplinas académicas las humanidades y las ciencias sociales se dan la mano para ofrecer análisis rigurosas y originales sobre la política, la cultura y la sociedad latinoamericana.

Accusing certain Latin American thought as "Eurocentric" implies assuming that ideas have an origin, a nationality and that, furthermore, they may not correspond to the identity and territory of those who think them: Latin Americans thinking with European ideas. This epistemological distinction between the identity of ideas and that of the people who think them is useful for us to introduce the writings of this book: authors who, despite being in Denmark, think in a "Latin American way about Latin America." As in the reflection of a mirror, these authors are located in Europe, but think about, and with, Latin America, a thought in dialogue. The texts gathered here not only go beyond these categories between purely Eurocentric or Latin American, they also go beyond the limits imposed by academic disciplines: the humanities and the social sciences go hand in hand to offer rigorous and original analyzes of politics, culture and society in Latin American.
