Proceso de Duelo en Hijos con Síndrome de Alienación Parental

Abstract

La familia y los lazos afectivos que se establecen con los padres cobran gran importancia en el desarrollo y bienestar de los hijos. De este modo, la pérdida de relación con uno de los padres como consecuencia del Síndrome de Alienación Parental (SAP) tras una separación de progenitores resulta en una serie de síntomas patológicos en el individuo. El trabajo a continuación pretende entender estas reacciones de hijos con SAP como manifestaciones de duelo por la pérdida de la relación afectiva con el progenitor alienado. Se describe el proceso de duelo, incluyendo sus varios tipos y teorías, y cómo éste es comparable a los síntomas que presentan hijos con SAP. En concreto se estudian estas experiencias en hijos que se encuentran en la etapa del ciclo vital de adolescencia, desglosando las características y tareas de esta y cómo influyen en sus reacciones ante situaciones estresantes como un duelo.

Family and the emotional ties that are established with the parents are of great importance when it comes to the development and well-being of the children. Thus, the loss of the relationship with one of the parents as a consequence of Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) after a separation of the parents results in a series of pathological symptoms in the individual. The following work aims to understand the reactions of children with PAS as manifestations of grief due to the loss of the sentimental relationship with the alienated parent. The process of grief is described, including its various types and theories, and how it is comparable to the symptoms presented in children with PAS. Specifically, these experiences are studied in children who find themselves in the adolescent stage of the life cycle, describing the characteristics and tasks of it and how these influence the reactions of the individual in stressful situations such as grieving.
