The main objective of this research paper is to establish a relationship between market liquidity and the volume of M&A transactions. To this end, a review of the existing literature on the subject, and the relationship between other macroeconomic variables and liquidity will be carried out. Furthermore, this dissertation also aims to analyse the factors that have favoured the wave of mergers and acquisitions post pandemic in Europe. In order to do so, a phenomenological study will be conducted for the collection of data. This study will be obtained from experts in the field in question. Further on, a thematic analysis will be carried out to arrive to the conclusion of whether or not liquidity plays a major role in explaining sudden waves of M&A activity.es_ES
