Ampliando la dignidad humana

Abstract

La perspicaz reflexión kantiana sobre la dignidad humana, aun con su influencia actual en las declaraciones de derechos, no puede dar por cerrado el pensamiento sobre la dignidad. Desde luego que el hombre no puede ser tratado como un instrumento o un mero precio de mercado, pero esta idea se ubica en un contexto de abstracción que viene dominado por la concepción del hombre como fin en sí mismo, y por ello en un discurso filosófico individualista y egoísta donde el ser piensa antes en su propia dignidad desde su autonomía, que en facultar y colaborar en la construcción de la dignidad ajena. Antes del enfoque hermenéutico de la obra, se acoge la aportación marxista sobre la dignidad, la cual se separa del apriorismo y formalismo kantiano, y se conduce para evitar la cosificación del trabajador en el que Marx contempla la ontología del ser humano. Pero el materialismo marxista tampoco satisface al autor de este libro que en su ampliación de la dignidad humana se sirve de la aportación contemporánea de las ciencias del espíritu cristalizadas en el recorrido ético de la Hermenéutica en el que la subjetividad interpreta que se enriquece en la alteridad y la otredad. El secreto de la dignidad no es tanto contemplarme a mí mismo, sino reconocer, respetar, acoger y ayudar al otro cuya situación vital es indigna.
