Análisis comparativo: EUTM Somalia vs. EUTM Mali

Abstract

Este Trabajo Final de Grado se centra en evaluar cómo las misiones de entrenamiento militar de la Unión Europea (EUTM) en Mali y Somalia han influido en la seguridad nacional y regional. Además de llevar a cabo un análisis, el trabajo trata de compararlas y medir su impacto bajo el marco teórico de la teoría de la Seguridad Humana. El estudio destaca la relevancia de estas misiones dentro de las Relaciones Internacionales, no solo por su contribución a mejorar las capacidades militares de los países receptores sino también por su repercusión en la estabilidad regional y la Reforma del Sector de Seguridad. Se busca entender, mediante un análisis comparativo, las similitudes y diferencias entre ambas misiones, las cuales tienen lugar en contextos geopolíticos muy complejos. Durante este trabajo también se estudia la importancia que estas misiones dan a la cooperación internacional y la gestión eficaz de conflictos. Mediante el análisis de la EUTM Somalia y la EUTM Mali, se espera no solo entender sus dinámicas y resultados sino también reflexionar sobre cómo la Unión podría mejorar sus futuras iniciativas de entrenamiento militar considerando las necesidades particulares de cada región y los retos globales emergentes.

This Final Degree Project focuses on evaluating how the European Union Training Missions (EUTM) in Mali and Somalia have influenced national and regional security. In addition to conducting an analysis, the work seeks to compare them and measure their impact under the theoretical framework of Human Security theory. The study highlights the relevance of these missions within International Relations, not only for their contribution to improving the military capabilities of the recipient countries but also for their repercussions on regional stability and Security Sector Reform. It aims to understand, through a comparative analysis, the similarities and differences between both missions, which take place in very complex geopolitical contexts. During this anlysis, the importance of these missions to international cooperation and effective conflict management is also studied. Through the analysis of EUTM Somalia and EUTM Mali, it is expected not only to understand their dynamics and outcomes but also to reflect on how the Union could improve its future military training initiatives considering the particular needs of each region and the emerging global challenges.
