Conoce la Constitución española de 1978: guía didáctica para estudiantes

Abstract

Es innegable que la vigencia de la Constitución de 1978 ha supuesto en España grandes beneficios, políticos, sociales, culturales e incluso económicos. El autor de la Constitución es la Nación española que en uso de su soberanía , decide elaborar un texto en virtud del cual España se constituye en un Estado social y democrático de Derecho . La Constitución establece el principio de limitación del poder, crea un sistema político parlamentario y reconoce y garantiza los derechos y libertades fundamentales de los ciudadanos que se concretan en libertades individuales frente al poder. La elaboración de la Constitución de 1978 duró quince meses, entre agosto de 1976 y octubre de 1977, y en su redacción se emplearon más de cuatrocientas horas de debates parlamentarios. Pero estos datos poco nos aportan, si no se hace referencia a la voluntad unánime de sus autores de lograr un entendimiento que pusiera fin a un largo período de ruptura.

It is undeniable that the validity of the 1978 Constitution has brought significant benefits to Spain, both politically, socially, culturally, and even economically. The author of the Constitution is the Spanish Nation, which, exercising its sovereignty, decides to draft a text by which Spain is established as a social and democratic state under the rule of law. The Constitution establishes the principle of the limitation of power, creates a parliamentary political system, and recognizes and guarantees the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, which are manifested in individual freedoms against the authority. The drafting of the 1978 Constitution lasted for fifteen months, from August 1976 to October 1977, and it involved more than four hundred hours of parliamentary debates. However, these facts do not provide much insight unless reference is made to the unanimous will of its authors to achieve an understanding that would put an end to a long period of rupture.
