Derechos humanos y vulnerabilidad de las personas migrantes en tránsito: el caso de ‘’La Bestia’’

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la vulneración de los derechos humanos de las personas migrantes en tránsito en México, en los que se abordan diversos aspectos que van desde los desafíos que enfrentan estas personas durante su travesía, hasta las relaciones entre México y Estados Unidos en cuestiones migratorias. El tren de ‘’La Bestia’’ representa una dura realidad para las personas migrantes que atraviesan México en su camino hacia Estados Unidos. Este tren de carga implica numerosos desafíos y peligros como caídas, lesiones graves, la violencia, la presencia de organizaciones criminales, abusos, entre otras, pero aun así es la opción preferida por muchos debido a la falta de recursos económicos y otras alternativas viables para su travesía.

The aim of this study is to analyze the violation of human rights of migrants in transit in Mexico, in which various aspects are addressed ranging from the challenges these individuals face during their journey, to the relations between Mexico and the United Statis in migration matters. ‘’La Bestia’’ train represents a harsh reality for migrants crossing Mexico on their way to the United States. This freight train involves numerous challenges and dangers such as falls, serious injuries, violence, the presence of criminal organizations, abuse, among other, yet it remains the preferred option for many due to the lack of economic resources and other viable alternatives for their journey.
