LA DIPLOMACIA CULTURAL: UN ANÁLISIS DEL SOFT POWER A TRAVÉS DEL FESTIVAL DE CINE ALEMÁN DEL GOETHE-INSTITUT EN ESPAÑA

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivo investigar el papel del Goethe-Institut en España como herramienta de diplomacia cultural y su impacto en las relaciones hispano-germanas, centrado en el Festival de Cine Alemán de Madrid. A través de este evento, que se celebra anualmente desde 1999, se analizará cómo las casas culturales son instrumentos de soft power para mejorar la percepción de Alemania en España y promover un mayor intercambio cultural entre ambos países.

El trabajo evaluará el impacto del festival mediante análisis cuantitativos y cualitativos, abarcando la asistencia al evento, encuestas a los participantes y entrevistas con organizadores. Además, se estudiarán las colaboraciones entre el Goethe-Institut y las instituciones culturales españolas. El objetivo es determinar si el Festival de Cine Alemán ha logrado posicionarse como un evento relevante en la agenda cultural española y si ha contribuido positivamente a la mejora de las relaciones culturales y diplomáticas entre España y Alemania.

This dissertation aims to investigate the role of the Goethe-Institut in Spain as a tool for cultural diplomacy and its impact on Spanish-German relations, focusing on the German Film Festival in Madrid. Through this event, which has been held annually since 1999, it will be analyzed how cultural centers are instruments of soft power to improve the perception of Germany in Spain and promote greater cultural exchange between both countries.

This project will evaluate the impact of the festival through quantitative and qualitative data, including attendance at the event, surveys of participants and interviews with organizers. In addition, collaborations between the Goethe-Institut and Spanish cultural institutions will be studied. The objective is to determine whether the German Film Festival has managed to position itself as a relevant event on the Spanish cultural agenda and whether it has positively contributed to the improvement of cultural and diplomatic relations between Spain and Germany.
