Dios mío, ¿por qué sufren y mueren los niños? : palabras y silencios desde la filosofía y la teología

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo será desarrollar desde la perspectiva de una enfermera pediátrica, lo que se ha dicho acerca del mal, específicamente del mal físico, explícitamente manifestado en el sufrimiento y muerte de los niños. Desde este profundo drama, se confrontará la existencia de un Dios bueno y omnipotente, como lo es el Dios cristiano. Se desarrollará en primer lugar un análisis meramente filosófico, que sentará las bases para ir luego más allá, a un plano teológico, para indagar acerca de lo que se puede decir, pero sobre todo, lo que no. Esta cuestión está llena de palabras que pueden encerrar ciertas verdades, pero son muchos más los interrogantes y silencios que esconde. Es finalidad de este trabajo decir lo que se pueda decir, pero todavía más, dar a conocer sus silencios, silencios cargados de amor, de preguntas, de expectación y quizás aún más tiernamente, de la incesante búsqueda humana de sentido.

The objective of this paper is to explore what has been said about the topic of evil from the perspective of a pediatric nurse. It will develop the main definitions of evil, focusing specifically on physical evil, that which is explicitly manifested in the deaths and suffering of children. From this profound topic, the existence of a good and omnipotent God - that of Christianity - will be confronted. First, a purely philosophical analysis will be developed in order to establish the basis for a further theological analysis, exploring what is said about physical evil, but above all, what is not said. This question is full of words that can contain certain truths, but there are many more questions that hide within its silence. The purpose of this paper is to acknowledge what can be said, but moreover, to make known the silences; silences loaded with love, with questions, with expectations, and, perhaps even more tenderly, the unending human search for meaning.
