Abstract

La conducta suicida es en la actualidad un problema de salud pública que se cobra miles de vidas anualmente. Por su parte, la población infantojuvenil no solo es de riesgo por el momento del desarrollo sino también por sus características personales, sociales y contextuales. El objetivo del presente trabajo es actualizar una revisión sistemática llevada a cabo por Soole et al. (2015) cuyo fin era investigar el suicidio en niños y adolescentes. Para ello se ha llevado a cabo una revisión sistemática bajo el método PRISMA obteniendo un total de 11 artículos. Se han podido revalidar y extender ideas a nivel demográfico, de salud mental, socioambiental y contextual. Además, se han encontrado nuevos hallazgos en cuanto a diferencias entre chicos y chicas, redes sociales, diversidad de género y sexual o el papel del terapeuta.

Suicidal behavior is at the moment a public health problem that claims thousands of lives annually. The child and adolescent population is not only at risk due to their developmental stage but also due to their personal, social, and contextual characteristics. The objective of this paper is to update a systematic review carried out by Soole et al. (2015) whose purpose was to explore suicide in children and adolescents. To this end, a systematic review using the PRISMA method was carried out, yielding a total of 11 articles. Ideas have been validated and extended at the demographic, mental health, socio-environmental, and contextual levels. In addition, new findings have been made regarding differences between boys and girls, social networks, gender and sexual diversity, and the role of the therapist.
