EQUILIBRIOS Y CONDICIONAMIENTOS HISTÓRICOS DE LA POLÍTICA EXTERIOR ESPAÑOLA ENTRE ISRAEL Y LA CUESTIÓN PALESTINA (1945-1975)

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el equilibrio de la política exterior española entre Israel y la causa Palestina desde el final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial hasta la muerte de Franco en 1975. La posición española en Oriente Medio ha estado marcada por una serie de ventajas e inconvenientes, principalmente por sus intereses entre ambos actores y por el aislamiento internacional de la dictadura durante una década. Se estudia cómo, a lo largo de la dictadura franquista, las decisiones diplomáticas españolas han estado condicionadas por prioridades internas y estratégicas. Este trabajo analiza no solo cómo se ha equilibrado la política exterior en Oriente Medio, sino también cómo el contexto regional ha obligado a España a posicionarse ante diversos acontecimientos clave. El objetivo principal es comprender cómo España ha intentado mantener un equilibrio entre el respaldo a la causa palestina y el fortalecimiento de sus relaciones con Israel, en un entorno caracterizado por tensiones internacionales, presiones externas y la evolución de sus propios intereses nacionales.

This work analyses the balance of Spanish foreign policy between Israel and the Palestinian cause from the end of World War II to the death of Franco in 1975. Spain’s position in the Middle East has been shaped by a series of advantages and disadvantages, mainly due to its interests between both actors and the international isolation of the dictatorship for a decade. It examines how, throughout the Francoist dictatorship, Spanish diplomatic decisions were conditioned by internal and strategic priorities. This study analyses not only how foreign policy in the Middle East was balanced, but also how the regional context forced Spain to take positions in response to various key events. The main objective is to understand how Spain attempted to maintain a balance between support for the Palestinian cause and the strengthening of its relations with Israel, within an environment characterized by international tensions, external pressures, and the evolution of its own national interests.
