La relevancia creciente del turismo internacional y el fuerte impacto que sufrió durante la pandemia justifican la necesidad de analizar en profundidad su papel dentro del sistema económico regional. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es evaluar el impacto del turismo internacional en Andalucía entre 2018 y 2024. Para ello, se emplea el modelo input–output basado en la Tabla IO de Andalucía con año base 2016, que permite cuantificar los efectos directos e indirectos del gasto turístico sobre la producción, el empleo, el ingreso y el PIB regional. A partir de la desagregación del gasto turístico y su incorporación en la demanda final, se estiman los multiplicadores de tipo I que permiten medir los efectos del turismo sobre la economía. Los resultados muestran una fuerte caída del impacto económico del turismo causada por la pandemia, seguida de una recuperación rápida y sostenida que culmina en 2024 con niveles de actividad superiores a los registrados antes de la pandemia. Tourism is one of the fundamental pillars of the economy of Andalucía, both for its contribution to employment and output and for its impact on other productive sectors. The growing importance of international tourism and the severe impact it experienced during the pandemic justify the need for an in-depth analysis of its role within the regional economic system. The main objective of this study is to assess the impact of international tourism in Andalucía between 2018 and 2024. To this end, an input-output model is used based on the Input-Output Table for Andalucía with 2016 as the base year, allowing the quantification of the direct and indirect effects of tourist spending on output, employment, income and regional GDP. By disaggregating tourism expenditure and incorporating it into final demand, Type I multipliers are estimated to measure the effects of tourism on the economy.
