Abstract

El artículo estudia la narrativa tardía de Antonio Prieto, caracterizada por la intertextualidad, la reflexión metanarrativa y la preocupación por el paso del tiempo. A través del análisis de obras como Isla Blanca (1977), Los estandartes del rey (1982) y Del amor y de la muerte (1993), se destacan motivos como la memoria, la herencia cultural y el diálogo con la tradición literaria europea. Prieto articula un universo donde los personajes luchan por vencer la fugacidad de la existencia mediante el recuerdo, la palabra y la escritura. La autora subraya cómo estas obras consolidan la madurez estética del autor y lo sitúan en la continuidad del humanismo narrativo hispánico.

The article examines the late narrative works of Antonio Prieto, defined by intertextuality, self-reflective discourse, and a deep concern with the passage of time. Through the analysis of novels such as Isla Blanca (1977), Los estandartes del rey (1982), and Del amor y de la muerte (1993), it highlights themes such as memory, cultural heritage, and dialogue with the European literary tradition. Prieto creates a universe where characters strive to overcome the transience of existence through memory, language, and writing. The study emphasizes how these works consolidate the author’s aesthetic maturity and situate him within the continuity of Hispanic narrative humanism.
