<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="es-ES" mdschema="dc">La industria del lujo afronta el reto de crecer sin perder su exclusividad, un fenómeno conocido como la “paradoja del lujo” derivado de la democratización y las estrategias masstige. Esta investigación analiza la transición desde un modelo clásico hacia un paradigma contemporáneo, evaluando cómo las firmas históricas equilibran volumen y prestigio. Para ello, se ha desarrollado un estudio cualitativo y deductivo basado en las variables del marketing mix en el que se aplica una matriz estratégica de siete dimensiones a Armani y Burberry. Los resultados revelan que la adaptación exige modelos híbridos: Armani ejecuta una transición de consolidación mediante una marca estratificada, mientras Burberry protagoniza un repliegue estratégico focalizado en sus iconos para revertir su dilución. Se concluye que, para sobrevivir, las firmas de alta gama deben blindar su exclusividad con arquitecturas defensivas, integrando la sostenibilidad y omnicanalidad digital como pilares de su prestigio.</dim:field>
<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="en-GB" mdschema="dc">The luxury industry faces the challenge of growing without losing its exclusivity, a phenomenon known as the "luxury paradox" driven by democratization and masstige strategies. This research analyzes the transition from a classic model to a contemporary paradigm, evaluating how historic brands balance volume and prestige. To this end, a qualitative and deductive study based on the marketing mix variables was developed, applying a seven-dimension strategic matrix to Armani and Burberry. The results reveal that adaptation requires hybrid models: Armani executes a consolidation transition through a stratified brand, while Burberry undergoes a strategic retreat focused on its icons to reverse its dilution. It is concluded that, to survive, high-end firms must protect their exclusivity with defensive architectures, integrating sustainability and digital omnichannel strategies as pillars of their prestige.</dim:field>
