Partiendo de un marco teórico basado en la teoría del apego y en la literatura sobre trauma temprano, se plantea que las experiencias adversas en la infancia pueden dejar una huella significativa en la forma en que las personas se vinculan afectivamente y construyen sus relaciones íntimas en etapas posteriores de la vida. Para ello, se llevó a cabo un estudio cuantitativo, transversal y correlacional con una muestra de 40 adultos con pareja estable. Se evaluaron variables relacionadas con el trauma infantil, el apego adulto, el ajuste diádico y la experiencia terapéutica mediante instrumentos psicométricos validados. Aunque el estudio no permitió confirmar algunas hipótesis debido a limitaciones metodológicas y al reducido tamaño muestral, los hallazgos subrayan la relevancia del apego adulto como variable clave en la comprensión del funcionamiento relacional. Asimismo, se destaca la necesidad de continuar investigando estas variables en muestras más amplias y clínicas, así como profundizar en el valor de las intervenciones centradas en el apego y la regulación emocional dentro del ámbito terapéutico. This study analyzes the relationship between childhood trauma and the functioning of adult romantic relationships, focusing on the role of adult attachment and the potential moderating effect of therapeutic intervention. Based on attachment theory and the literature on early trauma, it is proposed that adverse childhood experiences may leave a significant impact on the way individuals form emotional bonds and build intimate relationships later in life. To this end, a quantitative, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with a sample of 40 adults involved in stable romantic relationships. Variables related to childhood trauma, adult attachment, dyadic adjustment, and therapeutic experience were assessed using validated psychometric instruments. Although the study did not confirm some of the hypotheses due to methodological limitations and the small sample size, the findings highlight the relevance of adult attachment as a key variable in understanding relational functioning.
