A través de una metodología mixta que combina cuestionarios a 488 docentes y grupos focales, los autores identifican prácticas pedagógicas relacionadas con la interioridad, la reflexión, la gratitud y la compasión. Los resultados muestran una aplicación desigual, dependiente de la iniciativa personal del profesorado y de la cultura institucional. Se subraya la necesidad de programas estructurados con objetivos secuenciales, formación docente específica y acompañamiento continuo. El estudio propone pautas pedagógicas para desarrollar la dimensión espiritual de los niños, destacando la importancia del compromiso institucional, la colaboración educativa y la evaluación reflexiva como elementos esenciales para una educación verdaderamente holística.</dim:field>
<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="en-GB" mdschema="dc">This article explores how the spiritual dimension can be effectively integrated into early childhood and primary education in Spain. Using a mixed-methods approach—combining survey data from 488 teachers and two focus groups—the authors identify pedagogical practices linked to inner reflection, gratitude, compassion, and mindfulness. Findings reveal that spiritual education is unevenly implemented, largely depending on teacher initiative and institutional culture. The study emphasizes the need for structured programs with sequenced goals, targeted teacher training, and continuous mentoring. It proposes pedagogical guidelines to foster children’s spiritual growth, stressing the importance of institutional commitment, collaborative practice, and reflective evaluation. Spirituality is presented as an essential component of holistic education, supporting emotional well-being, ethical awareness, and personal meaning in childhood learning.</dim:field>
