Efectividad de la inclusión de Mulligan al tratamiento habitual de fisioterapia en pacientes diagnosticados con capsulitis adhesiva

Abstract

Introducción: La capsulitis adhesiva es una patología que se sigue estudiando, ya que en algunas personas la causa de por qué aparece esta enfermedad no está clara ni se sabe. Se trata de una patología que afecta al complejo escápulo-humeral que es la articulación más móvil del cuerpo, por lo que es muy importante funcionalmente para hacer actividades de la vida diaria. Actualmente el tratamiento de esta patología no es del todo específico. La aplicación del protocolo Mulligan como parte de un tratamiento conservador busca reducir el dolor al hacer movimientos de hombro, ganar rango de movimiento y conseguir restaurar o mejorar la funcionalidad del miembro superior afecto. Objetivo general: Evaluar el efecto de la inclusión de Mulligan al tratamiento habitual de fisioterapia, frente a solo el tratamiento habitual de fisioterapia para pacientes diagnosticados con capsulitis adhesiva de hombro. Metodología: Se diseña un estudio analítico, con asignación aleatoria, con triple ciego, para 72 sujetos de entre 40 y 60 años diagnosticados con capsulitis adhesiva de hombro, divididos entre un grupo control que recibe el tratamiento habitual y un grupo experimental al que se le tratará con Mulligan añadido al tratamiento habitual. Después del tratamiento para cada paciente de cada grupo se compararán las medidas pretratamiento y postratamiento sobre el dolor, la funcionalidad del miembro superior y el ROM de los movimientos del hombro; y con la media se interpretarán los datos y se sacarán los resultados.

Introduction: Adhesive capsulitis is a pathology that continues to be studied, since in some people the cause of why this disease appears is neither clear nor known. It is a pathology that affects the scapulo-humeral complex, which is the most mobile joint in the body, making it functionally very important for carrying out activities of daily living. Currently the treatment of this pathology is not entirely specific. The application of the Mulligan protocol as part of conservative treatment seeks to reduce pain when making shoulder movements, gain range of motion and restore or improve the functionality of the affected upper limb. Main objective: To evaluate the effect of including Mulligan to regular physiotherapy treatment, versus just regular physiotherapy treatment for patients diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder. Methodology: An analytical study is designed, with randomized assignment, with triple blinding, for 72 subjects between 40 and 60 years old diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder, divided between a control group that receives the usual treatment and an experimental group that will be treated with Mulligan added to usual treatment. After 12 weeks of treatment for each patient belonging to each group, pre-treatment and post-treatment measurements on pain, upper limb functionality and ROM of shoulder movements will be compared; and with the average the data will be interpreted, and the results will be obtained.
