Karl Rahner. La fecundidad de la razón teológica

Abstract

El capítulo presenta la figura y la teología de Karl Rahner (1904–1984), subrayando la “fecundidad de la razón teológica” en diálogo con la modernidad. Expone su trayectoria (jesuita, profesor, perito del Vaticano II) y describe rasgos clave de su pensamiento: la unidad entre filosofía y teología, el anclaje en la espiritualidad ignaciana, y una teología orientada a la vida y la pastoral. Después sintetiza núcleos de su propuesta para el siglo XXI: Dios como Misterio santo (incomprensible y cercano) y su autocomunicación en la historia; el ser humano como “espíritu en el mundo” y “oyente de la Palabra”, abierto trascendentalmente a Dios (incluida la idea de “existencial sobrenatural”); la centralidad de Cristo como kénosis de Dios y plenitud/divinización del hombre; la Iglesia como realidad sacramental e histórica de la gracia; y, finalmente, una teología consciente de la analogía y del pluralismo cultural y teológico.

The chapter presents the figure and theology of Karl Rahner (1904–1984), highlighting the fruitfulness of theological reason in dialogue with modernity. It outlines his life and work (Jesuit priest, university professor, peritus at Vatican II) and identifies core features of his thought: the unity of philosophy and theology, a deep grounding in Ignatian spirituality, and a theology oriented toward life and pastoral practice. It then synthesizes key centers of his proposal for the twenty-first century: God as Holy Mystery (incomprehensible yet close) and God’s self-communication in history; the human being as “spirit in the world” and “hearer of the Word,” with a transcendental openness to God (including the notion of the supernatural existential); the centrality of Christ as God’s kenosis and the fulfillment/divinization of humanity; the Church as a sacramental and historical reality of grace; and, finally, a theology conscious of analogy and pluralism in contemporary culture and theology.
