This systematic review examined whether curcumin supplementation improves neuromuscular performance in adults over 65 years old. Curcumin, a bioactive compound in turmeric, is known for its strong antioxidant and anti‑inflammatory effects, which may help counteract muscle deterioration associated with aging. After searching PubMed and Web of Science and applying PICOS-based criteria, only five studies met the inclusion requirements. The available evidence indicates that curcumin—especially when combined with piperine—may enhance upper‑body neuromuscular function, such as isometric handgrip strength. However, its impact on lower‑body performance (e.g., knee flexion strength, walking speed) remains unclear. More research is needed to determine the overall effectiveness of curcumin in maintaining muscle health and mobility in older populations.en-GB
