. his paper investigates the emerging concept of ecosystem-based technology innovation management in the European renewable energy sector. By analyzing the interplay between actors within the ecosystem, the study aims to uncover the strategies employed by organizations to leverage ecosystem dynamics and drive technology innovation. The research objective is addressed through a multi-step approach that integrates qualitative methods, social network analysis (SNA), frequency analysis, and analytical analysis. The findings reveal the composition and dynamics of the European renewable energy innovation ecosystem, highlighting the significant role of key non-profit organizations (NPOs) and multinational enterprises (MNEs) in shaping technology innovation and collaboration. The study emphasizes the importance of collaboration and partnerships among MNEs and NPOs in driving technology innovation within the sector. Key MNEs are identified as focal actors, demonstrating higher levels of engagement and strategic positioning across multiple NPOs. The insights gained from this research have practical implications for organizations operating in the renewable energy sector, enabling them to strategically position themselves, foster collaborations, and drive technology innovation more effectively. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of ecosystem-based technology innovation management in the European renewable energy sector, contributing to the existing knowledge on sustainable innovation ecosystems
