Formación y protección: medidas para aprovechar las transformaciones del futuro

Abstract

El texto analiza cómo España afronta un importante desajuste entre las competencias que exige el mercado laboral y la formación real de muchos trabajadores, en un contexto marcado por la automatización, la digitalización y la transición ecológica. Los autores defienden que para aprovechar estos cambios no basta con crear empleo: hace falta reforzar la formación continua, la recualificación y la formación profesional, además de reformar las políticas activas de empleo para orientar mejor a trabajadores y empresas. También subrayan que estos procesos deben ir acompañados de medidas de protección social que apoyen a los sectores y personas más vulnerables durante la transición.

The text analyzes how Spain is dealing with a significant mismatch between the skills demanded by the labor market and the actual training of many workers, in a context shaped by automation, digitalization, and the green transition. The authors argue that, in order to make the most of these changes, it is not enough simply to create jobs: continuous training, reskilling, and vocational education must also be strengthened, alongside reforms to active labor market policies so that workers and firms can be guided more effectively. They also stress that these processes should be accompanied by social protection measures to support the sectors and individuals most vulnerable during the transition.
