Hate crimes, characterized by their severity and the harm inflicted on marginalized groups, require specialized intervention within the prison system. This study examines the psychosocial characteristics of 33 offenders (extreme right-wing, extreme left-wing, Latino gangs, or non-affiliated) using self-report questionnaires. Findings reveal significant social, criminological, and psychological differences, highlighting the complexity of perpetrator profiles. Consequently, prison administrations should tailor treatment programs to address the distinct characteristics of offenders and their specific group affiliations. This approach aims to effectively target criminogenic needs and contribute to the prevention of recidivism, ensuring more effective rehabilitation within correctional settings.en-GB
