través de una lengua extranjera. Originalmente&#13;
motivado por el deseo de aumentar la exposición&#13;
y el aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras, el AICLE&#13;
pronto demostró ser mucho más. Cuando los&#13;
docentes deben enseñar conceptos complejos de&#13;
matemáticas o historia en una lengua extranjera,&#13;
se dan cuenta de que los estudiantes no pueden&#13;
seguir fácilmente la clase si simplemente explican&#13;
(es decir, si dan una lección magistral). Esto&#13;
motiva a los profesores de AICLE a reducir las&#13;
clases centradas en el docente y aumentar las&#13;
actividades centradas en el estudiante. Así, los&#13;
docentes CLIL evolucionan de ser simplemente&#13;
“libros de texto hablantes” a convertirse en&#13;
“ingenieros de la instrucción”.</dim:field>
<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="en-GB" mdschema="dc">CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is an educational approach in which academic content is taught through a foreign language. Originally motivated for increasing foreign language exposure and learning, CLIL soon revealed itself to be much more. When teachers must teach complex mathematics or history concepts through a foreign language, they realise that students may not easily follow the lesson if they just explain (i.e. lecture).  This motivates CLIL-teachers to reduce teacher-centred lecturing and increase student-centred doing. CLIL-teachers thus evolve from being simply “talking textbooks” into “engineers of instruction”.</dim:field>
