<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="es-ES" mdschema="dc">El texto destaca la creciente demanda de titulados en áreas STEM debido a la digitalización y a los retos de la Cuarta Revolución Industrial. Sin embargo, existe una brecha entre las necesidades del mercado laboral y las elecciones formativas del alumnado, especialmente marcada por la baja presencia de mujeres en estudios STEM, tanto en Formación Profesional como en la universidad. Ante esta situación, la Universidad Pontificia Comillas impulsa desde hace años iniciativas para fomentar vocaciones científicas y tecnológicas, con especial atención a las mujeres y a la Formación Profesional. Entre sus líneas de actuación se incluyen la investigación de factores que dificultan la elección de estos estudios, el cambio cultural frente a estereotipos de sexo, programas de orientación académico-profesional, formación a orientadores, profesorado y familias, así como talleres, concursos, visitas a empresas y acciones de difusión.</dim:field>
<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="en-GB" mdschema="dc">The text highlights the growing demand for graduates in STEM fields due to digitalization and the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. However, there is a gap between labor market needs and students’ educational choices, especially marked by the low presence of women in STEM studies, both in Vocational Education and Training and at university level. In response to this situation, Comillas Pontifical University has been promoting scientific and technological vocations for years, with special attention to women and Vocational Education and Training. Its lines of action include researching the factors that hinder the choice of these studies, promoting cultural change to challenge gender stereotypes, developing academic and career guidance programs, training school counselors, teachers and families, and organizing workshops, competitions, company visits and dissemination activities.</dim:field>
