¿Nos repara el perdón? La reparación de los abusos a través del sacramento del perdón como misión y responsabilidad eclesial

Abstract

.En este capítulo se investiga el valor reparador del sacramento del perdón, conscientes de que, aunque indudablemente la víctima haya de estar en el centro de atención de todo proceso de reparación, no podemos ignorar al victimario. El silencio o el rechazo sin acompañamiento del abusador, puede generar una cierta complicidad imposibilitando la ruptura de la espiral del abuso, sin la cual será imposible extirpar totalmente las dinámicas que lo provocan. De ahí nuestro interés por mostrar que la compasión, el perdón y la dinámica del sacramento de la penitencia son conceptos clave en este proceso. Aun así, la confesión ha sido, desde tiempo inmemorial, un lugar donde se han perpetrado abusos de todo tipo. Espacio de reparación, por excelencia, se ha convertido en lugar de degradación, de rupturas y heridas que desfiguran, junto al sacramento, la imagen de Dios, creando desconfianza en sus mediaciones. Lo que nos ha llevado a preguntarnos: ¿es recuperable el sacramento del perdón como espacio de reparación? ¿en qué sentido ofrece reparación a la víctima y al victimario? Y ¿qué habría que repensar acerca de la forma del sacramento para recobrar su esencia reparadora? A responder a estas preguntas se dirige este capítulo.

.In this chapter, the restorative value of the sacrament of forgiveness is explored, with the awareness that, although the victim must undoubtedly be at the center of any process of reparation, the perpetrator cannot be ignored. Silence or rejection without accompaniment of the abuser can generate a certain complicity, making it impossible to break the spiral of abuse—without which it will be impossible to fully eradicate the dynamics that provoke it. Hence our interest in showing that compassion, forgiveness, and the dynamics of the sacrament of penance are key concepts in this process. Even so, confession has, since time immemorial, been a place where all kinds of abuses have been perpetrated. A space of reparation par excellence has, at times, become a place of degradation, of ruptures and wounds that distort—along with the sacrament—the image of God, creating distrust in its mediations. This has led us to ask: can the sacrament of forgiveness be restored as a space of reparation? In what sense does it offer reparation to both the victim and the perpetrator? And what would need to be rethought about the form of the sacrament in order to recover its restorative essence? This chapter is devoted to addressing these questions.
