Etapa que, si no se trata de forma precoz, evolucionará a demencia, causando una mayor pérdida de las funciones cognitivas que, conforme avance la enfermedad, serán más notorias. La finalidad del profesional sanitario es detectar de forma rápida las manifestaciones de la enfermedad y diagnosticarlo en una fase temprana. Gracias a la investigación neurocientífica se han desarrollado nuevas terapias que ayudan favorablemente a retrasar su aparición. Entre ellas la terapia eléctrica transcraneal (tES), que ha demostrado múltiples beneficios a nivel cognitivo mejorando la función cerebral en diferentes aplicaciones. Objetivo: evaluar la eficacia de las tES online en pacientes diagnosticados de deterioro cognitivo leve frente a la modalidad offline. Metodología: ensayo clínico experimental aleatorio. Los participantes que cumplan los criterios de inclusión serán sometidos a 26 sesiones realizadas en seis meses. El estudio cuenta con una muestra de 98 participantes divididos en dos grupos. Ambos grupos recibirán la terapia descrita. Además, el grupo experimental contará con una estimulación cerebral. Implicaciones para la práctica enfermera: permite la aplicación de la intervención basada en la evidencia científica mientras se fomenta un papel autónomo y especializado a la enfermera.
