Analiza cómo desigualdades históricas, jerarquías sociales, racismo, género, clase, discapacidad y orientación sexual condicionan las prácticas de liderazgo inclusivo en organizaciones. A partir de entrevistas a profesionales con amplia experiencia en DEI, el capítulo muestra que las iniciativas suelen estar impulsadas por multinacionales, presiones sectoriales o exigencias legales, pero su desarrollo es desigual y frágil. También destaca diferencias nacionales: la centralidad de la raza en Brasil, la invisibilidad de la clase social en Chile y Perú, y el peso del conservadurismo y la exclusión indígena en México. El texto concluye que las estrategias DEI deben adaptarse a los contextos locales y promover colaboración estructural.</dim:field>
<dim:field element="description" qualifier="abstract" language="en-GB" mdschema="dc">This chapter examines the challenges and strategies of high-profile professionals working in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion across Latin America, focusing on Chile, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico. It analyzes how historical inequalities, social hierarchies, racism, gender, class, disability, and sexual orientation shape inclusive leadership practices within organizations. Drawing on interviews with experienced DEI professionals, the chapter shows that initiatives are often driven by multinational corporations, industry pressures, or legal requirements, but that progress remains uneven and fragile. It also highlights national differences: the centrality of race in Brazil, the invisibility of social class in Chile and Peru, and the influence of conservatism and Indigenous exclusion in Mexico. The chapter concludes that DEI strategies must be context-sensitive, locally adapted, intersectional, and supported by broader forms of collaboration to address structural exclusion.</dim:field>
