Abstract

En los textos de este libro el lector no va a encontrar una exaltación del humanismo, pues este se piensa desde sus heridas, crisis y lecturas. Tampoco hallará una exposición dogmática y clausurada de lo trascendente, pues se reflexiona desde la apertura y la posibilidad de asombrarnos ante antiguos y nuevos anhelos. Este es un libro cuyas palabras invitan al giro, al desmontaje crítico, a cuidadas redefiniciones y, sobre todo, a intensos diálogos. Aunque los siguientes temas estén en auge y casi en boca de todos aquellos para quienes pensar ocupa tiempo y espacio, las preguntas por la paz y lo sagrado, el arte y la técnica, el pluralismo y la democracia, la dignidad y la alteridad, el lenguaje y la poesía se despliegan en valientes oleadas de inversiones conceptuales que, lejos de resolver esas tensiones mediante nostalgias reaccionarias, ofrecen torsiones de humanismo y trascendencia. En definitiva, este no es un libro de soluciones, pues nace de un diálogo vivo entre profesores y alumnos. Far from resolving these tensions through reactionary nostalgias, they offer torsions of humanism and transcendence.

Ultimately, this is not a book of solutions, for it arises from a living dialogue between professors and students. It is a book that, from the love of intelligence gifted to us by that past we call philosophy, invites us to go slowly, for we urgently need to think ourselves without haste.
