Como estrategia narrativa, el diálogo es un recurso importante que permite al escritor modelar la subjetividad del personaje. dc.description.abstract | The volume Voices of Suspense and Their Translation in Thriller, edited by Susanne M. Cadera and Anita Pavić Pintarić (Rodopi. Approaches to Translation Studies 2014), presents research on the ways suspense is created and translated in dialogues of crime fiction, both in literature and films. Dialogues help create suspense and guide the audience through the development of the plot. Fictional dialogue evokes orality, confers authenticity and credibility on a plot. One of its main functions is to depict the characters and to contribute to the developement of their personality, distinguishing them from the others taking part in the action of the story. As a narrative strategy, dialogue is an important resource that enables the writer to shape the character's subjectivity. In thrillers the character's voice is part of the process of creating suspense. The dimensions of narrator categories and modes of speech as well as the thought representation are a fundamental stylistic component in the creation of suspense. | en-GB |
