La relocalizacón del espíritu. Meditación estética en un mundo tecnológico

Abstract

La sociedad actual de la comunicación parecería haber conseguido plasmar en los medios informáticos atributos que tradicionalmente se vinculaban al espíritu, como la superación del espacio y el tiempo, la simultaneidad y una velocidad sutil de asociación y presencia en donde lo material siempre fracasaba. Se analiza críticamente esta hipótesis, y se plantea desde la reflexión estética, una paradójica e inédita necesidad del espíritu de relocalizarse, frente a esa pretendida deslocalización o multilocación que permite, o casi impone, la sociedad en red. Algunos síntomas del pensamiento y el arte contemporáneos dan muestras y calves para asumir esa relocalización, que acompañaría una retemporización y en definitiva una reencarnación; y que lejos, de vivirse como fracaso, ofrecería nuevas vías de sentido y claves inesperadas de crítica. En el presente escrito se ensaya este planteamiento y se ofrece a consideración y debate

It would seem that the current communication society has managed to capture in computing media attributes which have traditionally been associated with the spirit, such as the overcoming of space and time, simultaneity, and a subtle speed of association and presence where the material always fails. I critically analyze this hypothesis and pose, in the light of aesthetic reflection, a paradox and new necessity for the spirit to relocate itself against that pretended dislocation or multilocation which is allowed by, or almost imposed by, the online society. Some symptoms of contemporary thought and art provide evidence and clues for assuming that relocation, which would accompany a retemporization and in short a reincarnation; and which far from being experienced as a failure, will offer new paths of meaning and unexpected critical clues. In the present paper I will attempt to expose this approach and submit it for consideration and debate.
