La crítica al cientificismo de Miguel de Unamuno

Abstract

La tesis "La crítica al cientificismo de Miguel de Unamuno" estudia la compleja relación de Miguel de Unamuno con la ciencia. Para ello, se distinguen tres momentos. En primer lugar, se advierte en su filosofía la defensa del positivismo de manera consciente, elegida y convencida. Se analiza a continuación todo el proceso de crítica y desencanto respecto a esta opción, que culmina con el cambio de planteamiento en su filosofía paralelo a la famosa crisis de 1897. A partir de aquí, nace y se desarrolla su crítica al sentido cientificista de entender la ciencia. En esta propuesta, Unamuno no sólo condena los excesos del cientificismo, sino que también hará una defensa de la verdadera ciencia. Este trabajo se centra en el rango temporal donde encontramos este tema más presente, desde sus primeros escritos hasta 1914.

The aim of this thesis, "La crítica al cientificismo de Miguel de Unamuno" is to investigate the complex relationship between Miguel de Unamuno and the science. To that end, there are three distinctive moments. Firstly, it is noticeable in his philosophy a conscious, chosen and convinced defense of positivism. Next, it is analyzed all the process of criticism and disenchantment regarding this option, which culminates with the change of his philosophical approach, parallel to his famous crisis in 1897. Hereafter, it is born and developed his criticism of the scientificism way to understand the science. In this proposal, Unamuno not only condemns the excesses of scientism but also defends the real science. This work focuses on the temporal status where we can find this topic more present, since his first writings to 1914.
