Familias monoparentales. ACCESO A LA MATERNIDAD/PATERNIDAD NO CONVENCIONAL: LAS FAMILIAS MONOPARENTALES POR ELECCIÓN.

Abstract

La monoparentalidad por elección, supone un nuevo tipo de monoparentalidad emergente en la sociedad, que da lugar a un nuevo modelo de familia caracterizado por un progenitor que toma por sí mismo la decisión de ejercer la paternidad en solitario. Este modelo requiere de atención y estudio debido a lo novedosa que resulta su aparición y al alto crecimiento en las cifras en los últimos años. Existe un mayor porcentaje de mujeres al cargo de estas familias que comparten una serie de características comunes. Sobre estas madres solas por elección, conocidas como MSPE, se ha investigado cual es el proceso que llevan a cabo para la toma de decisión, cuales son las dificultades que se encuentran tanto ellas como sus hijos así como los apoyos con los que reciben. De igual manera se ha investigado acerca del manejo de estas madres de la ausencia de la figura paterna en sus modelos de familia. Finalmente se ha realizado una pequeña descripción de los padres solteros por elección, debido a su creciente auge en la sociedad, en relación a los aspectos en lo que difieren de las madres, como las formas de acceso a la paternidad y los criterios que se enfatizan en el proceso de adopción.

Single parenthood by choice, is a new type of emergent single-parenthood in society that results in a new family model that is characterized by parent who makes his own decision to exercise paternity alone. This model requires attention and study due to the novelty of its appearance and the high growth in the figures in recent years. There is a higher percentage of women in charge of these families who share a series of common characteristics. About these single mothers by choice, known as MSPE, has been investigated what is the process that lead to decision making, what are the difficulties that they and their children face as well as the support they receive. Similarly, the management of these mothers of the absence of the father figure in their family models has been investigated. Finally a small description of the single parents has been made by choice, due to its growing boom in society, in relation to aspects in what differ from mothers in the aspects in which they differ from the mothers, as the forms of access to paternity and the criteria that are emphasized in the adoption process.
