Exploración de oportunidades de emprendimiento a partir del sector agrícola en España aprovechando las mejoras tecnológicas

Abstract

A pesar de que el sector agroalimentario es un sector que ha estado presente en el mundo desde siempre, las innovaciones en éste han ido cayendo con cuenta gotas. El objeto de este proyecto es analizar los retos y tendencias a nivel global y nacional (que muchas veces coinciden), ver posibles mejoras y lanzar una empresa que cubra una o varias de esas oportunidades, centrándose en las necesidades del consumidor. Los retos se centran principalmente en el cambio climático, el envejecimiento de la población rural y las limitaciones de terreno fértil. Las tendencias son muy parecidas, estando siempre presentes la sostenibilidad y la digitalización. Se han observados diversas oportunidades de mejora para el proyecto que están recogidas como necesidades del sector, se han identificado las claves y se ha elegido un modelo de negocio que soluciona muchas de ellas. El proceso seguido ha sido de investigación del sector (a nivel nacional), ideación de soluciones (a partir de una idea central), definición de la solución final (los detalles), testing de la misma (para encontrar posibles errores que haya podido haber en la definición) y diseño de un plan de implementación en el que se incluye un modelo económico aproximado a futuro.

Despite being one of the most ancient economic sectors, the companies from the agro-food sector experience innovation too slowly. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the challenges and trends in companies in the agro-food sector globally and nationally (most of them are the same). After that, study different possibilities to solve the identified needs and create a new start-up that covers one or more of those needs, focusing on the client as the main character. The challenges are mostly related to climate change, ageing of the rural population and the limitations with regard to the arable land. The trends are very similar nationally and globally, being always around sustainability and digitalization. Different opportunities to innovate have been identified and have been included as sector’s needs. After that, the key needs have been selected and a solution has been proposed to solve those needs. For the thesis, the process that has been followed begins with the research of the agro-food sector, followed by the conceptualization of the ideas that will solve the challenges and the definition of the business model based on the best idea. Then a testing process is done in order to evaluate the effectiveness of that business model and, finally, it has been designed the implementation plan that includes an economic model.
