dc.description | The main purpose of the project is the design of a back-up system for a MET tower. When the connection with the main power supply (the closest turbine) breaks, the solution used should be able to feed the system for at least 48 hours so the data from the MET don't lose. Three different DC voltages must be provided for the secondary power supply. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of the project is the design of the output subsystem of the backup system of a meteorological tower in Dallas. In case that the main source fails, an automatic transfer switch (ATS) need to select between the three different sources (main power, solar subsystem and main battery) automatically assuring the transfer of data all the time. This switch is going to be designed, simulated and implemented by using three diodes in parallel that, depending on the input voltage of the source, will activate one or another. The MET tower need three different voltages (24, 12 and 5Vdc) for the different devices. A designed based in two synchronous buck converters connected in cascade is designed to assure efficiency and reliability during the use of the backup system. | en-GB |
