Hacia una Política Nacional Migratoria

Abstract

El presente texto presenta la actual legislación migratoria, el DL 1094 y sus regulaciones, en su contexto histórico y social, evidenciando los sobrepasados paradigmas sobre los cuales éste se ha basado. Ante esta realidad, y tomando como fundamento el Programa de Gobierno de la Presidenta Bachelet 2014-2018, el Departamento de Extranjería y Migración del Ministerio del Interior y Seguridad Pública ha enfocado su acción en modernizar la institucionalidad migratoria para posibilitar la inclusión efectiva de los migrantes a la sociedad chilena, conforme a los desafíos contemporáneos de la migración y a los compromisos de derechos humanos que Chile ha asumido.

This text presents the current migration legislation, DL 1094 and its regulations, in their historical and social context, evidencing the surpassed paradigms on which this has been based. Given this reality, and based on the Government Program of President Bachelet 2014-2018, the Immigration and Immigration Department of the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security has focused its action on modernizing migratory institutions to enable the effective inclusion of migrants to Chilean society, in accordance with the contemporary challenges of migration and the human rights commitments that Chile has assumed.
