El diseño de una investigación académica en criminología.

Abstract

En el capítulo primero de este libro, se expone en extenso lo que se entiende por investigación científica, algo que evidentemente siempre aspira a ser una investigación en nuestro área científica de criminología1. Como dice Ibáñez Peinado (2013) citando a Avila Baray (2006) la investigación científica: Es la aplicación del método científico a un problema, que se lleva a efecto a través de determinadas etapas (p.52). Tal y como quedó expuesto en ese capítulo, el proceso de investigación científica en criminología pasa por las cuatro fases fundamentales que tiene que seguir cualquier estudio que se realice dentro de una ciencia: la recogida de información y planteamiento del problema; la formulación de hipótesis y deducción de enunciados; contrastación de hipótesis y comunicación de resultados. Si este es el camino que vamos a seguir en nuestra investigación, habremos de adelantar por escrito nuestra intención, en un formato que con pequeñas diferencias se suele repetir por parte de todos los investigadores, en lo que denominamos proyecto de investigación. La elaboración del proyecto debe ser la primera tarea que se afronte cuando se quiere llevar a cabo una investigación (Babbie, 1996).

In the first chapter of this book, what is understood by scientific research is extensively exposed, something that evidently always aspires to be a research in our scientific area of ​​criminology1. As it was exposed in that chapter, the process of scientific research in criminology goes through the four fundamental phases that must be followed by any study carried out within a science: the collection of information and the approach of the problem; the formulation of hypothesis and deduction of statements; testing of hypothesis and communication of results. If this is the path we are going to follow in our research, we will have to advance our intention in writing, in a format that with small differences is often repeated by all researchers, in what we call a research project. The elaboration of the project must be the first task that is faced when you want to carry out an investigation (Babbie, 1996).
