dc.description.abstractAntecedentes: Dadas las repercusiones psicológicas que tiene el diagnóstico de cáncer de mama y de próstata sobre las personas, hace que nos encontramos ante un sector de población en riesgo en cuanto a la salud mental. Objetivo: Conocer cómo afrontan el cáncer, tanto hombres como mujeres, relacionándolo con la calidad de vida en la salud (CVRS). Así como con variables sociodemográficas. Método: Participaron un total de 27 hombres y 33 mujeres entre los 43 y 86 años de edad. Se emplearon los instrumentos: HADS, para medir tanto la ansiedad como la depresión de la muestra clínica, CAEPO, cuestionario de afrontamiento en pacientes oncológicos y el SF12 V2.0, que mide la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud. Resultados: Existen diferencias significativas entre hombres y mujeres en el afrontamiento de la enfermedad p = .042. Por otro lado, el estadío de la enfermedad influye en los estilos de afrontamiento p = .022. Se observa, que el apoyo social percibido no afecta al afrontamiento p = .771. Por último, cuando se comparan los niveles de ansiedad y depresión con el tiempo de seguimiento en consulta no se obtiene relación con CVRS. Conclusión: Se han observado cambios en función del sexo y sobre las variables de afrontamiento.es_ES
dc.description.abstractBackground: Knowing the psychological repercussions of the diagnosis of breast cancer and prostate cancer on people, makes us face a sector of the population at risk in terms of mental health. Objetive: The objective is to know how men and women coping the disease, in order to the quality of life in health (HRQOL). Different sociodemographic variables will be considered to determine if they influence or not. Method: The sample was 27 men and 33 women between 43 and 86 years. The following instruments were used: HADS, to measure anxiety and depression of the clinical sample, CAEPO, stress coping questionnaire for oncological patients and the SF12, which measures the quality of life related to health. Results: There are significant differences between men and women in coping with the disease p = .042. On the other hand, that the stage of the disease influences in coping styles p = .022. It is noted, that perceived social support does not affect coping p = .771. Ultimately, that comparing levels of anxiety and depression related to follow-up time in consultation is not a predictor of HRQOL. Conclusion: Changes have been observed depending on sex and on coping variables.es_ES
