Repercusión de la legislación sobre costas en la sostenibilidad de la actividad turísitica

Abstract

La conservación de la costa española está sufriendo una creciente amenaza a causa de la intensidad de la actividad económica que en ella se viene desarrollando desde hace años. En este trabajo se pretende analizar cómo, desde 1969 hasta la actualidad, la Administración Pública regula esta materia mediante la Ley de Costas. Por otro lado, se busca resaltar el fundamental papel del sector turístico-hotelero como referente en la zona. Además, todo ello se abordará en conjunto a través del caso del Hotel El Algarrobico como claro ejemplo de esta problemática. Por último, se propone una reforma del Reglamento General de Costas como solución a la situación actual de las empresas que operan en la zona. Mediante ello se busca lograr un verdadero equilibrio entre la libre actividad económica y la sostenibilidad del litoral español.

The conservation of the Spanish coast is under increasing threat due to the intensity of economic activity that has been taking place there for years. Thought this investigation is intended to analyze how, since 1969 until today, the Public Administration regulates this matter through the Coastal Law. On the other hand, it seeks to highlight the fundamental role of the tourism-hotel sector as a reference in the area. Furthermore, all this will be addressed as a whole through the case of the Hotel El Algarrobico as a clear example of this problem. Finally, a reform of the General Coastal Regulations is proposed as a solution to the current situation of the companies operating in the area. The aim is to propose to strike a real balance between the free-economic activity and the sustainability of the Spanish coast.
