El uso indebido del status diplomático y consular en el personal miembro de estas instituciones

Abstract

Este proyecto de investigación analiza el uso indebido del status diplomático y consular en casos de distinto personal. Se analizarán tres casos reales: jefe diplomático, funcionario y jefe consular. En dicho análisis se estudiará si el hecho de poseer el status supone una ventaja, incluso cuando se comete un delito, y se verá como han actuado los Estados ante cada situación, para finalmente ver si el uso indebido del status ha resultado en soluciones justas o si ha supuesto una ventaja para el personal diplomático y consular, y ha incitado a continuar con las malas prácticas.

This research project analyses the misuse of diplomatic and consular status in cases involving different personnel. Three real cases will be analysed: diplomatic head, official and consular head. The analysis will examine whether the fact of having the status is an advantage, even when a crime is committed, and will see how States have acted in each situation, to finally see if the misuse of status has resulted in fair solutions or if it has been an advantage for diplomatic and consular staff, and has encouraged further bad practices.
