dc.description.abstract | This work reviews what are the new pathologies that have been developed associated to the use of new technologies. Among these, technology addiction, nomophobia, fear of missing out, digital amnesia and technostress stand out. In addition, some of the features that make you more vulnerable to suffering any of these pathologies have also been studied. Some of these are impulsivity, dysfunctional families, low self-esteem and poor social support. The digital era is in its peak and psychologists have to be well trained in cyberpsychology so they can make front to the impact technology is having on people that might develop anxiety, stress and low self-esteem. It has been proven that online psychotherapy is more common nowadays in comparison to face-to-face psychotherapy. This new form of therapy must be ruled by an ethical code that ensures the confidentiality, privacy and safety of the patient. | en-GB |
