Diseño e implantación de sistema de regadío para colegio de formación profesional de Dotito, Zimbabwe

Abstract

El presente proyecto consiste en un sistema de riego por goteo destinado a mejorar la calidad de la educación que reciben los alumnos de un colegio de formación en Dotito, Zimbabue. Se trata de un proyecto solidario es por ello que la recaudación del presupuesto será correspondencia de los alumnos implicados. Debe ser un sistema económicamente viable, duradero y simple. Tomando el agua de unos tanques con un volumen diario aproximado de 15 m3 es posible satisfacer el riego de 6 hectáreas de cultivo. Generalmente se cultivará maíz, que es la base de su alimentación. El método de riego por goteo permite que el agua se aproveche con un 90% de eficiencia mayor a la de otros sistemas de riego, además de no demandar energía eléctrica. Con las tomas de agua y el caudal disponibles es necesario implantar tres sistemas de distinto tamaño. Una vez se tome el agua esta recorrerá tuberías primarias, secundarias y terminará en las de riego, las cuales contarán con una serie de goteros que permitan el riego. Para montar este sistema serán necesarias diversas uniones. Por cuestión económica y de calidad se tomarán tuberías de PVC y de PE. El mantenimiento y el cuidado de la instalación son requisitos indispensables que se deben inculcar a los locales para asegurar que el sistema perdure. Una vez se hayan recaudado los fondos y el diseño esté completado será posible llevar a cabo este proyecto, en el verano de 2021, cumpliendo así con el objetivo personal de este proyecto: poner en práctica los conocimientos adquiridos durante el grado en ICAI para ayudar a quienes no han tenido las mismas oportunidades.

This project consists of a drip irrigation system that is created to improve the quality of education received by students at a training school in Dotito, Zimbabwe. It is a solidarity project and therefore the budget will be collected from the students involved. It must be an economically viable, durable and simple system. By taking water from tanks with a daily volume of approximately 15 m3 it is possible to satisfy the irrigation of 6 hectares of crops. Generally maize will be grown, which is the basis of their diet. The drip irrigation method allows the water to be used with 90% greater efficiency than other irrigation systems, in addition to not demanding electrical energy. With the available water intakes and flow, it is necessary to implement three systems of different sizes. Once the water is taken, it will go through primary and secondary pipes and will end up in the irrigation pipes, which will have a series of drippers that will allow the irrigation. Several joints will be necessary to install this system. For economic and quality reasons, PVC and PE pipes will be used. Maintenance and care of the installation are indispensable requirements that must be instilled in the premises to ensure that the system will last. Once the funds have been raised and the design is completed it will be possible to carry out this project, in the summer of 2021, thus fulfilling the personal objective of this project: to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the degree at ICAI to help those who have not had the same opportunities.
